Of Ruins and Roots: Ta Prohm

Ta Prohm is known for two things: the huge roots growing out of the temple ruins, and the fact that it is one of the locations of Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider.

But we were distracted.

Halfway through the temple, we saw Dingdong Dantes and his girlfriend waiting for their turn at the photo opp with the famous roots.

And just like that, the spotlight shifted.

Oh, terrible, terrible lapse in judgment.

And then there was the unforgiving summer heat.

Anyway, I was still able to take a few shots.

It looks like it is in a natural state of neglect. But the truth is it probably takes a lot of work to make it look this way. Otherwise, the entire thing would have been swallowed whole by the jungle.
